Your Eating Issues Deserve to Be Taken Seriously.

Does This Sound Familiar?

Maybe some of this feels familiar:

You feel out of control and crazy around food and dieting.
Shame and guilt about certain behaviors keep you stuck in an endless cycle.
Anxious, painful, intrusive thoughts follow you, so you stay busy or distracted.
It's most difficult at night, when it's still, quiet, and loneliness creeps in.
You binge after the kids go to bed, then get stuck in guilt and shame.
You've been through treatment before and worry you might fall down the rabbit hole again.

You're not alone. In their lifetime, 28.8 million Americans will have an eating disorder, and the diagnosis of “underweight” only applies to 6% of people with eating disorders.

Therapy That Gets to the Core

Counseling is particularly helpful because it can address what's at the core of most eating and body image concerns: anxiety, depression, and trauma. Binge eating, anorexia, bulimia, and orthorexia have all increased in notoriety, and effective treatments for these disorders have gotten better and better.

Susan provides a safe environment to explore what brought you to this point and how to move forward. She'll ask clarifying questions and summarize what she's hearing and seeing along the way.

Common Eating & Body Image Concerns

  • Binge eating
  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Orthorexia
  • Chronic dieting

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does eating disorder therapy cost?

Sessions are $225 per 50-minute session. If that's still too expensive, Susan is happy to refer you to affordable counseling programs within her network.

Do you take insurance?

Insurance companies require a diagnosis in your permanent record and access to your notes. Susan values your privacy and wants to help you maintain mental health and wellness, not pathologize you with a diagnosis. She does accept Lyra Health Employee Assistance benefits, and coverage varies by employer.

I've been through treatment before. Is this for me?

Yes. If you've been through eating disorder treatment and want to dive deeper into what's contributing to your body image, eating issues, and the underlying pain, Susan can help you keep moving forward in recovery.

What if therapy stirs up more than I can handle?

Susan works in a very empathetic and gentle way to build safety and trust before discussing anything painful or traumatizing. You can go as fast or as slow as you feel comfortable with, and her goal is to keep you within your “window of tolerance.”

What happens during the free consultation?

You'll meet over a video or phone chat. Susan will ask a few questions about what brings you to therapy, and you can ask her any questions you have, to see if she might be a good fit for your healing journey.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Susan is accepting new clients for in-person and telehealth sessions in Colorado, and for telehealth in Washington and Oregon.

Where is your office?

The office is at 6200 S Syracuse Way, Suite 260, Greenwood Village, CO 80111, south of Orchard Road and I-25.
